COACH TRAINING

Training that aims to create a safe and rewarding experience for both athletes and coaches.

After registering as a coach, you must become a licensed coach BEFORE you can ride with students. While other youth sports programs do not require background checks or training, Georgia Cycling prides itself on a structured coach-licensing program. We don’t want this training to seem overwhelming or to deter anyone from becoming a coach. The training is straightforward and not overly time-consuming, but it is a necessary step before coaches are permitted to ride with children.

We have two coaching levels: Assistant Coach and Coach. All coaches are required to hold at least an active Assistant Coach licence to participate in Trail Rangers activities.

The Georgia Cycling Association provides comprehensive liability insurance and covers all licensed coaches for the duration of the season. Every adult riding with a Trail Rangers program must hold a current license to be insured during these activities. Coaches who complete all coach certification requirements by March 1, 2026 will receive a free parking pass.
