RANGER ASSISTANCE

The Georgia Cycling Association is dedicated to making mountain biking accessible to all students, no matter their financial situation. Every child deserves the chance to experience the joy and lifelong benefits of cycling, and we’re committed to breaking down barriers to participation.

We offer two Ranger Assistance options: financial aid and a loaner bike program. These needs-based programs help offset essential costs, ensuring more kids can access Georgia Cycling’s Trail Rangers.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Thanks to the generosity of Arcus Capital Partners and individual donors, we can provide this essential support to lower barriers to entry for our Trail Rangers program. This needs-based financial assistance program can offset registration costs.

  • To apply, a parent or guardian should complete the form below. Applications are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the limited assistance we have to offer, we encourage applications to be submitted as early as possible.

  • Who qualifies as “in need”? If you request assistance, we trust that you need it. We don’t look at your taxes or your pay stubs. Your application will provide us with all the information we need.

  • As an organization, we recognize the value of creating ownership and commitment on the part of the applicant. Therefore, we request that families contribute even a small amount toward their registration fees. We do not want this to be a heavy financial burden, just a token of shared participation and commitment.

  • If awarded a financial assistance package, either the parent or the student-athlete will be asked to write a post-season letter explaining how the program benefited your family and/or the rider. Your identity will be kept confidential at your request.

LOANER
BIKES

The Georgia Cycling Association never wants the lack of mountain bike access to hinder a child’s desire to ride. The Specialized Loaner Bike Program is a needs-based program that loans bikes for use at Trail Rangers events, such as local sessions and statewide Expedition Days.

  • To apply, a parent or guardian should complete the form below. Applications are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to our small number of bikes available, we encourage applications to be submitted as early as possible.

  • Who qualifies as “in need”? If you request assistance, we trust that you need it. We don’t look at your taxes or pay stubs; your application will provide us with all the necessary information.

  • Rangers receiving a loaner bike should commit to participating in all local sessions and Expedition Days. We understand that sickness or family emergencies may occasionally upend your plans, and that’s okay. But our goal is to ensure that a loaner bike is used as often as possible and not sitting unused in a garage.

  • If awarded a loaner bike, the parent or student-athlete will be asked to write a post-season letter explaining how the bike benefited the Ranger. At your request, your identity will be kept confidential.
